Third Party Access for Business Accounts

Third Party access for business accounts (including Power of Attorney and Court Order)

Third Party access relates to different ways of giving another person access to your accounts. If you’d like us to consider a request to apply Third Party access to your business account, you’ll need to complete an application form.

Requests to apply Third Party access to a business account will be reviewed by our specialist Commercial Banking team – this will be separate to any personal banking requests.

Please note, if you’re completing a Third Party application for a Power of Attorney or Court Order on a business account, you’ll need to let us know at the time of applying.

Ways to apply for a Third Party to be added to the account

  • Online - you’ll need to complete an online form.
  • Visiting a branch - you’ll need to take the following documents into your local branch:
    • A form of identification and address verification for each deputy or attorney. You can find a list of acceptable documentation on our ID check page.
    • For Power of Attorney or Court Order applications, you’ll also need to provide the Full Power of Attorney or Court Order document – this will either need to be the original document or a copy which has been certified on every page. Alternatively, for Power of Attorney only, you can provide the secure digital access code for your online document.

Once we’ve reviewed the documents and information you’ve provided, we’ll be in touch to confirm if we’re able to apply the access or if we need more information from you. We’ll always try to contact you by phone in the first instance.
