Based in Birmingham, Frances Howell is the Head of Corporate Banking for the Midlands Region.
Frances was raised on the Island of Bute, Scotland, before attending Aberdeen University and graduating with a MA Hons in Economics with Accountancy.
She joined Midland Montagu / HSBC Group from University and her passion for financial services and the clients it serves spans over 30 years. During her career Frances has been based in numerous locations in the UK and overseas including Hong Kong and Sydney and has worked in a variety of roles including Digital Banking, Trade Services, Commercial Banking and Global Liquidity and Cash Management.
In her current role, Frances is responsible for supporting corporate businesses ranging from entrepreneurs to PLCs achieve their ambitions by providing cross border trade and treasury services, helping them become more sustainable and by giving them access to products and services offered by other parts of the HSBC Group.
Personally, Frances is a mum to Joshua who was born in Hong Kong and her personal time is devoted to supporting her son in his ambition to be a wildlife vet and travelling with her partner Martin.
Frances is a keen supporter of agile working, shared parental leave and supporting mental wellbeing in the workplace with a particular focus on Disability. She is passionate about gender equality and in particular supporting female colleagues into Leadership and Executive positions. Frances is also co-Chair of the HSBCs Communities Committee in the Midlands and sits on the CBI East of England Council.
